Who we are:

Leaf Design Studio is a full service home & garden design studio. We believe your surroundings matter. Our design services help people create spaces that positively impact your everyday way of life. From the things you see and interact with, to the thoughtful details of the unseen — we create a harmonious environment full of originality and possibility. From residential homes, to your backyard oasis to inspiring commercial spaces, we design authentic, thoughtful spaces with a sensitivity to the environment and sustainability.

Our goal is to create a new movement of how home design should be. We believe that by working with like minded individuals who love good design, see the value in a professionally designed home, and who find it important to have a symbiotic relationship with the earth, we can change the way our industry impacts the environment. We know that good design has the power to nurture the soul, heal our land, and transform a house to a home.

Meet the Team

Deidre Kennedy

Deidre graduated from Winthrop University with a BFA in Interior Design and founded Leaf Design Studio in 2009. She resides in Mount Pleasant, SC with her husband, their 4 children and 10 chickens.

Ever since Deidre was a little girl, she has had a passion for color, design and creating beautiful spaces. Growing up, she loved spending time with her grandparents and she believes they helped shaped and nurture the passion that has since become her career.

Her Oma taught her how to sew and cook and was always willing to do any craft project together. Her Nunnie raised chickens and was the bravest and strongest women she ever met. Her Papa and Nana had a huge garden. Going fishing and helping her Papa in the garden instilled some of the best memories.

Deidre took a break from her career when she had her first son, Fox. Little did they know that the pandemic was just around the corner, which turned out to be a blessing. During this time, Deidre was able to get back in touch with the passions and lessons she learned as a child. She studied landscape design, permaculture and read any book she could find on homesteading. Together with her husband and son, they transformed their yard in to a certified wildlife habitat, raised 10 chickens and built a huge vegetable garden as well. She also had another baby boy, Banks who is the perfect finale to their family.

Adding garden design to our services only seemed like a natural choice.

I am going to make everything around me beautiful—that will be my life.
